Before moving forward with any tooth-whitening procedure, our dentist will examine your mouth and gums to ensure they are healthy. If any problems are detected that require attention before your teeth can be whitened, a full explanation of any other treatment needed, together with an estimate will be provided.
The tooth whitening offer of £199 applies to the beWhite home tooth whitening system. Our practices also offer a number of other whitening treatments and systems, all designed to give you that bright sparkling smile!
Home tooth whitening
Home tooth whitening is the most common way to lighten teeth. It involves two initial visits with further review appointments as necessary. At the first visit your dentist will take impressions of your upper and/or lower jaws (depending on whether you are having one or both arches of the mouth whitened). These will be sent to a dental technician to make trays that fit your mouth. At the second visit your dentist will ensure that the tray(s) fit comfortably and demonstrate how to dispense whitening gel into the trays. You will be given a number of the syringes containing whitening gel to take away with you, and your dentist will give you full instructions on how to wear the trays and apply the gel. It may be possible to achieve a change in the colour of your teeth by up to eight shades with home whitening.
In surgery tooth whitening
In-surgery whitening lightens the teeth using a photosensitive gel painted onto the teeth. The whitening process will take about one hour. For best results your teeth and gums must be healthy and plaque free. It is possible to achieve a change in the colour of your teeth of up to eight shades with in-surgery whitening, although the initial results usually settle back to around three to five shades after a few days. In-surgery tooth whitening is usually followed by home whitening and teeth will lighten by another few shades. The main benefit of in-surgery whitening is the instant result that can be achieved.
